Dr. Skinner is board certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology. She joined Florida Epilepsy Center from the University of Florida where she completed a Sleep Medicine fellowship and Neurophysiology fellowship.    Her previous post-graduate work experience includes working with the Tri-County Neurology group providing inpatient treatment and care at Florida Hospital East Orlando.  Also, she previously worked at the University of Florida in Gainesville, in the Epilepsy Division of the Department of Neurology, while pursuing advanced, post-graduate training as a clinical investigator.

Dr. Skinner earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and completed her internship and neurology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, were she capped her tenure as chief neurology resident. Her primary medical interests include epilepsy syndromes and sleep disorders.  She has published multiple articles detailing her research in peer-reviewed journals and is a member of the American Epilepsy Society, American Academy of Neurology, American Osteopathic Association and American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
